PM Modi chairs high-level meeting with top defence establishment to review security situation
In a special briefing on ‘Operation Sindoor’ on Saturday (May 10, 2025), Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said Pakistani claims on actions they have taken are based on lies and propaganda. He also condemned Pakistan shelling on civilians in J&K. Debunking claims of Pakistani propaganda, India released time-stamped images of Indian air bases undamaged.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and relevant aviation authorities have announced the temporary closure of 32 airports across northern and western India for all civilian flight operations. The closure will be effective from “May 9 to May 14 (which corresponds to 05:29 IST on May 15), due to operational reasons,” aviation regulator DGCA said in a release.

Indian Army said in a statement that on Saturday at approximately 5 a.m. multiple armed drones from Pakistan were spotted flying over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar. “The hostile drones were instantly engaged and destroyed by our air defence units,” says Army.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condoled the death of Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thapa, in a post in ‘X’ on Saturday (May 10, 2025). Mr. Abdullah said his residence was attacked by Pakistan shelling.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri says, “I have said on numerous earlier occasions, it is Pakistani actions that have constituted provocations and escalations. In response, India has defended and reacted in a responsible and measured fashion to these provocations and escalations by the Pakistani side. J&K Govt says fully prepared to deal with any kind of exigency
In the wake of Pakistan continuing violation of the ceasefire along the Line of Control, the Jammu and Kashmir Government said it is fully prepared to deal with any kind of exigency.
In an advisory issued on Saturday (May 10, 2025), the Union Territory government noted that all the necessary measures are being taken and it is fully prepared and equipped to handle any situation. “Health department has fully activated its emergency protocols and is fully prepared to handle any medical exigencies.”
Assuring the citizens that there is no cause for alarm, it requested the general public to stay calm and not panic. “Please follow SOPs issued by NDMA and Government in this regard.”
