According to preliminary investigation, it has come to light that a female colleague of victim had filed a zero FIR against Venkatesh in March 2025, in Delhi, under charges of attempted rape.

According to the AIIMS staff and doctors residing in the Adarsh Nagar area of Faridabad, the case was later transferred to Adarsh Nagar Police Station. Despite efforts, the police had not been able to locate him.

Authorities suggest that the ongoing investigation and legal trouble was troubling the deceased doctor. He recently applied for anticipatory bail from the Faridabad court, but it was rejected.

Police sources indicated this could have been a significant factor leading to his mental distress and eventual suicide.

Venkatesh checked into Deep Hotel on April 30 and was found dead shortly thereafter. Investigators say he used a bedsheet to hang himself inside the hotel room.

A few days before the incident, Venkatesh had travelled to Chandigarh, reportedly to consult a local advocate through an acquaintance.
Police sources said that the hotel room in which he was staying was broken and the body was seen hanging. The body was then brought down and sent to a government hospital for postmortem.

A police official said that as per preliminary investigation, there appears to be no foul play. The postmortem was conducted and the body of the victim was handed over to his family.
